PERSONAL
There are TONS of resources out there for personal/spiritual growth, development, and healing. These are just a few that have been especially transformative for us in our faith journey.
Scripture is obviously paramount to our faith! But the discipline of taking time each day to sit in a quiet moment with your favorite Bible isn’t always possible when you have kiddos in your bed, bathroom, and anywhere else they can squeeze themselves - at every waking moment.
SO, the Bible in a Year podcast has been a great gift that helps people immerse themselves in Scripture on-the-go and allow God’s Word to transform their lives.
As with most people, we find ourselves allowing the wounds of the past to seep into our faith and relationships - especially within the Domestic Church - and foster lies about virtually everything.
The way to heal the Domestic Church then, is to first allow Christ into our own wounds. But how do we do that? What exactly are wounds and how do we find them? Where do they come from? And, most importantly, how do we begin to (reverently) invite the Divine Healer in to restore us and bring us into full communion with Him?
Dr. Bob Schuchts & Jake Khym, MA are Catholic therapists with over 50 years combined experience teaching and accompanying people into fuller life and freedom. They both understand the keys for people to experience and live a restored life. They each have their own ministries with events and conferences, but this Restore The Glory Podcast has been such an amazing (and accessible) gift to us in our healing journey.
St. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to “take every thought captive to obey Christ.” He says again in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
It can be challenging to process the thoughts and feelings that flood into our hearts & minds daily - especially in the midst of wounds. I (Kate) needed help from a trusted, faithful, “third party” catholic who could help me navigate these tender areas.
Metanoia Catholic coaching continues to help me identify the lies that keep me from living the life God has planned for me and then work through them to discover gifts, overcome obstacles, and have so much more joy and freedom!
You can start with the Metanoia podcast and journal, but if you’re looking to go deeper (or just need a guide to get started, like I did) we highly recommend coaching! Our good friend, Megan Mohan, is amazing. She’s joyful, real, insightful, and has a fierce love for the Lord. You can schedule a free “discovery call” with her to see if coaching is a good fit for you. Click here to learn more about Megan and the link below for general information about Metanoia Catholic.
We know there’s a battle over the family. We also know that prayer is powerful. When dealing specifically with spiritual warfare, however, there are certain prayers the Church recognizes to be most effective.
Fr. Chad Ripperger is an exorcist who wanted to make these powerful prayers available to the laity, so he wrote “Deliverance Prayers: For Use by the Laity”. It’s a little intense, but the prayers are awesome and the understanding Fr. Ripperger provides about the spiritual battle has been such a gift to lay people everywhere.
These prayers have been amazing for our marriage and family as well! We recommend having the book (link below), but you can also find the PDF online with a quick search for the title and author.
**Be sure to read the introduction pages (instructions) at the beginning of the book to understand the importance of having proper authority when you are praying the deliverance prayers.
Deliverance Prayers: For Use by the Laity has an imprimatur from the Archdiocese of Denver.
